Due to an apparent clerical error, the main event of WWE’s upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view will not pit CM Punk against Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, as originally planned, but against Don “The Rock” Muraco.

“We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused,” reads a WWE press release on the matter. “The contract was written by an intern.”

Reached by Kayfabe News at his Hawaii home, Muraco said he is “surprised but thrilled” about the opportunity to challenge Punk for the WWE Championship.

“I’ve already called up Mr. Fuji and asked him to be there,” said Muraco. “I told him to bring the cane.”

Johnson, meanwhile, has expressed frustration that a contractual typo has cost him his title shot, although he’ll be paid a guaranteed $4.2 million anyway, “which is a bit of a consolation,” he said.

As for the intern who made the typo, WWE has wished him “the best in his future endeavors.”
