“It’s a convoluted mess,” says Tampa travel agent Lisa Graham, who tried without success to help Russo book a sensible, straightforward holiday. “I really don’t know what he’s thinking.”
Russo’s plans for a two-week cross-country road trip include inexplicable detours, illogical backpedaling, stops at gimmicky and adult-themed attractions, and an overall lack of coherent thought.
Russo has even scripted several heated arguments between family members, which he says “will add drama and excitement” to the long stretches of highway driving.
“Apparently I’m supposed to ‘get heel heat’ when we’re approaching The Grand Canyon,” said Russo’s wife Bonnie.
“I don’t know what that means. I think I’ll just listen to my iPod the whole trip.”
