Despite being one of the most promising up-and-coming stars in World Wrestling Entertainment, Sami Zayn is flustered by heckling fans who evidently would rather see former NWA star Ole Anderson.

Fans are mercilessly vocal during Zayn’s matches, repeatedly chanting “Ole, Ole, Ole!”

“I just don’t get it,” a crestfallen Zayn told reporters after the NXT TaKeOvEr: OuRRiVal event.

“No matter what I do, these people just want Anderson.”

Zayn admits that he too is a fan of Ole Anderson, a notorious brawler who rose to prominence as an original member of the Four Horsemen, alongside brother Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and Paul Roma.

But the young star wishes fans would judge him on his own merit, and not constantly hold him up against the impossibly high bar set by Anderson.

Although Zayn is getting noticed, it’s unlikely he’ll become a marquee superstar, since many fans and wrestling insiders believe he is just too generic.
