As a courtesy to his opponent and WWE technical crew, professional wrestler Roman Reigns — like countless others before him — recently removedĀ all television monitors from a ringside commentary table viciously hurling his opponent through it.

“Heaven forbid someone get hurt,” Reigns later explained. “And, boy, I’d feel awful if one of the monitors got broken.”

It is an unspoken rule in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) that the black plastic canopy on announce tables, as well as any protruding microphones and monitors, be protected from damage above all else.

Opponent AJ Styles said he was “relieved” to realize that his body, when powerbombed through the table be Reigns, did not damage any audio-visual equipment.

“I’d never forgive myself if I broke a monitor with my spine,” Styles said.
