It was announced this week that The Undertaker will emerge from semi-retirement and compete at WrestleMania 34 — and WrestleManias 35 through 44 — leaving some fans and pundits wondering whether the Phenom has bitten off more than he can chew.

Longtime wrestling journalist Dan Mutzler wrote this week that it is “one-thousand-percent totally confirmed for sure” that The Undertaker will square off against John Cena in April, marking the Deadman’s 26th WrestleMania appearance.

But the Undertaker will be 53 when he faces Cena — and will be 63 when his 10-year-10-match contract with WWE comes to a close — leaving some pundits questioning the long-term wisdom of the arrangement.

According to a source within WWE — who, for the sake of anonymity, asked to be identified only as W. Regal — the company’s creative team is already mapping out the Undertaker’s upcoming WrestleMania matches, including:

  • WrestleMania 35: Undertaker vs. Kane (to be billed as a “Once in a Lifetime” showdown)
  • WrestleMania 38: Mixed tag — Undertaker and Alexa Bliss versus Matt Hardy and Sister Abigail
  • WrestleMania 42: Hell in a Cell — Undertaker vs. Dewey Foley
  • WrestleMania 44:  Freestyle Rap Battle — Undertaker vs. Jim Ross

The Undertaker has not publicly confirmed his participation in any WrestleManias, and insists he’s still just trying to remember where he left his hat and coat.
