If you’re one of those wrestling fans who desperately avoids “spoilers” — an posts petulant comments in online forums when someone reveals results you haven’t seen for yourself — then stop reading now!
But if you’re just dying to find out what happened at In Your House 8: Beware of Dog, then we’ve got the exclusive* results right here!
In Your House: Beware of Dog emanated from the Florence Civic Center in South Carolina — to this day the only WWE pay-per-view to be broadcast from the state of South Carolina — and when you hear the tepid crowd of 6,000 fans fail to “pop” for Marc Mero, you’ll know why!
The Godwinns vs. The Smoking Gunns (Bart Gunn & Chris Sabin): The Godwinns won the WWF Tag Team Championship after Bart Gunn was quite unexpectedly knocked senseless by Butterbean.
Bob Holly vs. Dr. Isacc Yankem, DDS: The future Hardcore Holly emerged victorious after delivering an Alabama Slam to the future Abyss.
Marc Mero (with Sable) vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley: Mero easily squashed Helmsley, who never recovered from the loss and failed to ever make a name for himself in sports-entertainment.
Savio Vega vs. Steve Austin (Caribbean Strap Match): Savio Vega defeated Steve Austin. Yup, that actually happened. Seriously, look it up.
Yokozuna vs. Vader: In a high-flying aerial spectacular that makes Ricochet and Will Osprey look like obese pre-teens on a teeter-totter at fat camp, Yokozuna finally defeated Vader after nailing him with a 450-split-legged-corkscrew moonsault.
Goldust vs. The Undertaker (Casket Match): Remember how Savio Vega defeated Steve Austin? Yeah, Vince was still drunk when he booked this match too. Goldust wins.
Shawn Michaels vs. The British Bulldog: Generic, paint-by-numbers match here. Just before the match began, Michaels was served a summons from Bulldog’s attorney Clarence Mason. It stated that Michaels was a defendant with the charge of “attempted alienation of affection” due to the allegation of him making advances towards Bulldog’s wife Diana Smith, therefore causing strain in their marriage. The timing of the subpoena by Bulldog’s camp was an attempt to throw Michaels off his game, giving Bulldog a better chance of winning the championship. During the match, Bulldog accidentally ran into referee Earl Hebner, knocking him out for a period of time. A replacement referee (Mike Chioda) continued the match. Shawn Michaels performed a German suplex into a pinfall combination on Bulldog. By this time, the original referee had regained his senses, and both referees counted the pinfall. Both wrestlers had their shoulders on the mat as Chioda counted Michaels’ shoulders down, while Hebner counted Bulldog’s down. Due to both wrestlers being pinned simultaneously, the match was ruled a draw and Michaels retained the WWF Championship.
