Former WWE superstar and rock frontman John Morrison has returned to his first love by reuniting with legendary psychedelic rock band The Doors.

Following a successful career in World Wrestling Entertainment, which saw him hold the Intercontinental and Tag Team championships on several occasions, Morrison vanished from the public eye in 2011.

After a long period of reflection, psychotropic drug use and parkour, Morrison decided the time was right to revitalize his “Lizard King” persona and reunite with bandmates Ray Manzarek, John Densmore and Robby Krieger.

The reformed band is now in the studio recording a new album, tentatively titled Starship Pain.

Morrison, who hasn’t performed with the band since faking his own death and signing up for wrestling school in 1971, said he’s excited to perform onstage again, particularly because his “abs are so much more ripped nowadays.”
