Despite what his title would imply, longtime professional wrestling jobber Sho Funaki is, at the moment, jobless.

“It’s kind of ironic,” Funaki said through a Japanese translator. “I can’t find a jobbing job anywhere.”

Once beloved for his remarkably consistent inability to win wrestling matches, Funaki has been without a steady job for roughly two years.

In a strange twist, Funaki’s employment with World Wrestling Entertainment came to a close shortly after he actually started winning occasional matches under the persona Kung Fu Naki.

Funaki has been training hard in hopes of getting another job with WWE. He has been practicing lying on his back, shoulders pressed firmly against the mat, for a count of three.

“Just like riding a bike,” he said.
