Professional wrestler Jay “Black Machismo” Lethal has filed a lawsuit against fellow wrestler Damien “Macho Mandow” Sandow for allegedly infringing on Lethal’s already-infringed gimmick.

According to legal documents filed this morning in a Sarasota courtroom, Lethal’s lawyers allege that “Mr. Sandow has stolen, and is profiting from, a likeness and countenance that Mr. Lethal rightfully stole from Randall Poffo (Randy Savage).”

Lethal spoke to reporters outside the courtroom, saying: “Oooooh yeahhhh, if you think for one second that Sandow has the rights to this character, you’re in the danger zone, dig it?”

Counsel for Mr. Sandow rebutted with a prepared statement from their client: “Oooohhhh yeahhhhh, this raspy voice and these mannerisms are part of the public domain and therefore no person — Mr. Lethal or otherwise —  can claim ownership over them, and to claim otherwise is madness.”

The legal status of Randy Savage’s gravel-throated rasp and peculiar body language is indeed in a legal grey area, since the late wrestler made no specific declarations in his last will and testament.

In fact, he decreed in his will only one wish: that his brother, Leapin’ Lanny Poffo, take ownership of a “condominium on the mooooon, yeah.”
