World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) announced today that the first inductee into the 2018 class of its prestigious Hall of Fame will be none other than “The Big Guy,” Goldberg!

The Smoothie King Center in New Orleans will resonate with the iconic chants of “Golllldberrrrg, Gollllldberrrrg” when the so-called Silverback gets his long-overdue induction into the sacred institution.

Sources within WWE confirm that Goldberg will be inducted by longtime friend and partner Curtis Axel, with whom he formed the tag team GoldbAxel.

A former football player, Goldberg quickly garnered a reputation in professional wrestling for his intensity, his muscular physique, and the shocking nature of his main-roster debut as a member of the Nexus (a group that also included future stars Bad News Brown, Husky Wyatt, Mason “Batista” Ryan, and “Mr. No Days Off” Eric Young).

During his impressive WWE tenure, Goldberg constantly sought new challengers, often hollering: “Who’s feeding me more next?!”

Goldberg made his biggest impact in a feud against John Cena during a tour that criss-crossed the UK but, due to inclement weather, was forced to skip Sheffield.
