Longtime wrestling fans may remember may remember Damon Striker as a plucky WCW upstart — and now, 26 years later, he is finally getting a chance at real stardom by signing with AEW.
Little is known about what happened to Adam “Damon Striker” Copeland after he battled Meng in WCW, since he stepped away from wrestling entirely to manage his family’s orange grove in Orangeville, Ontario.
During his surprise AEW debut this week, Copeland confronted Christian Cage. What most fans don’t know is that Copeland and Christian (real name Ray Jeso) are actually childhood friends who trained together, and performed on the independent wrestling circuit as The Flatliners.
It has been a long time since fans last saw Copeland compete — he was defeated by Meng in 1996 before vanishing from wrestling — so only time will tell if he can shake off nearly three decades of ring rust.
Backstage sources reveal that Copeland and Christian may soon form a tag-team together as the Ding Dongs.
