Sources within World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) confirmed today that Daniel Bryan will square off against JTG in the preliminary match before the company’s flagship pay-per-view, WrestleMania.

The not-for-broadcast bout will serve to gently warm-up the live audience at the New Orleans Superdome, where more popular stars like Batista and John Cena will be featured in marquee matches.

Although many fans feel Bryan is ready for a headlining role at WrestleMania, WWE matchmakers feel he is still “too green,” and will learn a lot from squaring off against the wily Cryme Tyme veteran, JTG.

No “storyline” has been constructed to explain a Bryan-versus-JTG rivalry, but WWE brass feel none will be necessary for the four-minute match, which is expected to result in a countout victory for JTG.

Some conspiracy theorists believe that Bryan, despite his prodigious talents and popularity, is being “held back” by WWE Chief Operating Officer Hunter Hearst Helmsley.

Such accusations, however, are “nonsense,” says Helmsley.

The Bryan-JTG match is subject to cancellation in favor of a performance of America The Beautiful by Miley Cyrus.
