Cody Rhodes gets WrestleMania pre-show match against Baron Corbin
Although Cody Rhodes will not face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, having graciously handed that opportunity to The Rock, Rhodes will still get his “WrestleMania moment” in a pre-show match against NXT standout Baron Corbin.
Fans of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) feared that Rhodes had made a mistake by stepping aside, but the newly inked contract for a match against Corbin proves them wrong.
WWE is billing Rhodes-Corbin as “Once in a Lifetime,” even though the two have wrestled each other 139 times previously on a house show tour.
Whereas WrestleMania will be headlined by The Rock and Roman Reigns, Rhodes prefers to remain an underdog on the undercard.
“I’m the son of a son of a plumber,” said Rhodes, “so I know hard times.”
As part of the WrestleMania pre-show, the match will be held at 6:45am on the Tuesday preceding the main event.
