It looks like the business is about to pick up in the already-heated rivalry between Vince McMahon’s WWE and Tony Khan’s AEW, especially after Khan successfully trademarked the terms “Sportainment” and “Sporty Entertaining.”

“AEW is the recognized leader of excellence in sporty entertaining™, and the Superduperstars™ of AEW are the most elite sportainers™ in the world,” reads an AEW press release issued this morning. 

The statement continues: “The passionate fans of the AEW Multiverse™ are going to love our upcoming 31-man-over-the-top-rope battle royal, The Regal Ruckus™.

Not to be outdone, Vince McMahon has filed trademark requests for the letters W and E, which McMahon says are “are being used by AEW in a flagrant violation, quite frankly™, of WWE’s longstanding use of those letters, and things of that nature™.”
