In what is being hailed as a stroke of poetic justice, perennial underdog Zack Ryder — who recently lost the WWE Intercontinental Championship after a measly 24-hour reign — has just defeated Samoa Joe for the the NXT Championship that Joe nabbed last night.

Samoa Joe shocked fans by defeating Finn Balor for the NXT Championship yesterday in Lowell, Massachusetts — at a non-televised live event, no less — and seemed poised for long-term dominance.

Ryder, desperate to redeem himself after his embarrassing post-WrestleMania title loss, handily defeated Samoa Joe with a sunset flip at the three-minute mark of an afternoon match in Boston.

“Woo,” said a jubilant Ryder, adding two more woos for emphasis.

At the time of this writing, Ryder is set to defend his NXT Championship against Austin Ari — oh, wait, nevermind, Ryder just lost.
