The hottest sports-entertainment rivalry of the season will reach its boiling point next month at WWE SummerSlam, when Smackdown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon squares off the helicopter crashed him into the Atlantic Ocean. 

Billed as a “once in a lifetime” showdown (accurately, this time), the bout will be a falls-count-anywhere match, including falls from up to 20,000 feet.

McMahon was uninjured last week when the helicopter he was riding in crashed near Long Island, in what has been described as the “seventh-most dangerous bump” in McMahon’s career. 

Both McMahon and the pilot walked away from the crash — which reportedly happened during a coast-to-coast flight — but a garbage can wedged between two ropes on the shore was crushed beyond repair. 

McMahon originally vowed he wouldn’t fight the helicopter, but agreed to the match after WWE Hall of Famer Arnold Schwartzenegger told him to “get to the choppah.”

McMahon has reportedly been training for the Aug. 20 pay-per-view by jumping out of airplanes without a parachute (and has so far only suffered a slight bruise to his left buttock).
