Acerbic former WWE Superstar CM Punk neither confirmed nor denied today rumors that he has signed a secretive deal to perform a surprise “run-in” during the main-event match at WrestleMania.

Punk’s evasiveness on the subject lends credence to allegations that he has made amends with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and COO Hunter Hearst Helmsley, with whom Punk had a notorious falling-out last year.

Punk has been completely mum on the subject on social media, which many industry experts regard as a tacit admission that he will interfere during the main event.

“Punk is being quiet on the matter — a little too quiet, I would argue,” said veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer on the Live Audio Wrestling radio program. “Expect a return.”

Punk made headlines late last year when he announced that he will compete in UFC (a rigged theatrical spectacle in which musclemen in tights pretend to fight), but his involvement in the “sport” is regarded by most fans as a clever subterfuge to distract attention away from his impending WWE return at WrestleMania.

“It’s just too predictable,” wrote one jaded fan on WrestleForumz.net. “Frankly, I’m already tired of Punk’s comeback.”
