In what he hoped would be a nostalgic trip down memory lane, longtime wrestling fan Chad Benson watched a “Best of the WWE Attitude Era” video today and became inconsolably ashamed of the person he was in the late 1990s.

While re-watching a lingerie-clad Trish Status grovel for dog food to amuse Mr. McMahon, 42-year-old Benson turned his head in disgust — mostly disgusted at the memory of himself laughing uproariously when the segment first aired.

Benson became increasingly uncomfortable every time he heard Jerry Lawler mention puppies, and he felt nauseous re-watching the hamfisted racial stereotypes embodied by the Nation of Domination, DOA, Los Boricuas, and Gangrel.

Benson remembers idolizing DX as a teenager, but can no longer find any redeeming qualities in their endless stream of dick jokes and poop jokes and more dick jokes.

“I loved this stuff,” Benson mused, while watching Kai En Tai threaten to choppy-choppy Val Venis’s pee-pee. “God I was stupid.”
