In what promises to be an emotional occasion for wrestling fans everywhere, legendary Texan brawler Terry Funk (real name Terry Brunk) is coming out to retirement in order to go into retirement for a record-setting 100th time. 

Funk is one of the sport’s most enduring brawlers, with longevity that spans from his rookie year in 1907 to his first retirement match against Gorgeous George in 1957. 

Funk has since entertained fans around the world with retirement matches against some of the sport’s greatest names: Jerry Lawler (83rd retirement match), Abdullah the Butcher (sitting stationary in a chair, bleeding from his forehead) and, most recently, Nick F’n Gage. 

Although Funk’s latest retirement is an impressive milestone, the gritty 103-year-old from Amarillo said he’s not finished retiring yet: “I’ll be retiring forever, forever, foreverrrr,” said Funk.
