Fans of professional wrestling are abuzz today amid the announcement today that reigning and “defending” WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar, has signed a multi-year contract with burgeoning independent promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Even more surprising is that, according to leaked contract information, Lesnar will become the newest member of the Young Bucks alongside Matt Jackson, replacing Nick Jackson, who has been signed to WWE to form “The New New Rockers” with partner No Way Jose.

Lesnar’s advocate and life partner, Paul Eduardo Heyman, told a press conference today that Lesnar is “looking forward to the change of pace” in AEW, where he will be competing at four major events a year, as opposed to his current WWE rate of zero.

Lesnar is arguably the most accomplished signee with the upstart independent federation, aside from Joey Janela, “Hangman” Adam Page, and Brandi Rhodes.

It is unclear whether Lesnar will bring his WWE Universal Championship belt with him when he debuts for AEW, mainly because he accidentally left it at a Jimmy Johns restaurant several weeks ago.
