When the cameras are rolling, Wade Barrett is a popular sports-entertainment commentator, but the British brawler remains a bearer of bad news backstage, working as WWE’s Vice President of Employee Terminations.

Perched atop a cherrypicker with a gavel in hand, Barrett summoned a number of WWE employees today to deliver the bad news that the company was wishing them the best on their future endeavours.

“I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news,” Barrett reportedly said, one by one, superstars including Billie Kay, Mickie James, Samoa Joe, Seth Rollins, Mojo Rawley and others released today.

As WWE’s resident Debbie Downer, it is Barrett’s job to deliver bad news to employees, executives and shareholders, such as when he told Vince McMahon the weather report for Tampa last Saturday.

According to sources close to Barrett, he is unsure how to tell colleagues the news that he saved a bunch on car insurance by switching to GEICO.
