While Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson achieved some moderate success after making the transition from sports-entertainment to acting-entertainment, he is now being eclipsed by Hollywood’s hottest commodity, Michael “The Miz” Mizanin.

Much like Hulk Hogan did before him, Johnson managed to parlay his success in the ring to roles in a string of low-budget, straight-to-video clunkers like The Tooth Fairy, The Game Plan, and some silly films about fast, furious drivers.

Mizanin, meanwhile, is has been lauded by the New York Times as “a male version of Meryl Streep” for his brilliant portrayals of protagonists in such critically acclaimed films as Santa’s Little Helper (2015 Best Picture Academy Award), The Marine 3: Homefront (2013 Best Actor Golden Globe), and The Marine 17: RoboMarine (rated an unprecedented 117% on Rotten Tomatoes).

Films starring Johnson have earned an estimated total of roughly $1.3 million worldwide, whereas Mizanin’s body of work has grossed $1.7 trillion — roughly the same as the Gross Domestic Product of Brazil.

A new reality TV show, Miz & Mrs., starring Mizanin and wife Maryse, has been described by TV Guide as “a work of staggering depth, brilliance, and emotional resonance.”
