As Hollywood’s most glamorous celebrities gather to celebrate their achievements in film and television, all the buzz is once again focused on WWE Studios, the powerhouse production company behind such triumphs as The Chaperone and The Marine 7: PTSD.
For more than a decade, WWE Studios has been the odds-on favourite at the Golden Globes and the Oscars, which are the Smackdown and Raw of awards shows, respectively.
In recent years, WWE Studios has amassed dozens of Golden Globe accolades, including:
- Best Picture: Knucklehead (2010), See No Evil (2006)
- Best Actor: Randy Orton, for the “I could go to the papers” scene in That’s What I Am (2011)
- Best Midget in a Supporting Role: Hornswoggle in Leprechaun: Origins (2014)
- Best Horror Film: Jingle All the Way 2 (2014)
Although it is still early, there is already much Oscar buzz surrounding 2016’s Scooby Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon.
