wwe next World Wrestling Entertainment issued a rare public apology this morning after the company realized it has, for several years now, been spelling the word “NEXT” incorrectly as “NXT.”

“This is a regrettable typo, and we assure our audiences that it will be remedied,” WWE Chairman Vince McMahon said in a press release.

“From now on, the program featuring the rookie stars of our developmental league, Florida Championship Wrestling, will be known by its correct name, NEXT.”

Since it was launched in 2010, NXT (sic) has produced many up-and-coming stars of the wrestling world, including Antonio Cesaro, Wade Barrett and Fandango.

Tweeted WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H: “Oops, my bad. #FML”

Sources within WWE say that the company has considered launching a rebranding campaign called “Get the E In,” but decided it didn’t have the same ring to it as the popular “Get the F Out” campaign of 2002.
