Professional wrestling tag team The Usos have fallen into disgrace after being stripped of their Grammy Award for reportedly lip-syncing the lyrics to their trademark Samoan entrance chant.

The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences revoked the Grammy after a months-long investigation revealed Jimmy and Jey Uso — commonly known as Milli Vanuso — have merely been mouthing lyrics recorded several years ago by Samoa Joe.

The front page of today’s New York Times blares the headline “GRAMMY SCANDAL! Are Usos Even Samoan?”

Rolling Stone magazine, meanwhile, is calling for a full investigation of all singing wrestlers, alleging that Jeff Jarrett may have lip-synced the words to 1995 Grammy-winning country ditty, “With My Baby Tonight,” and that rapper John Cena may not have completed his doctorate in thuganomics.

The Usos have gone into hiding and have refused to comment on the matter, but their spokesperson, Lilian Garcia, issued the following statement: “The Usos deny these allegations, and will soon return to the ring and recapture their WCW Tag Team Championships.”
