wargamesFans of professional wrestling may face bitter disappointment tonight following the announcement that NXT TakeOver: WarGames has been cancelled due to complaints from parent advocacy groups that the title promotes violence.

“War is NOT a game,” said a spokesperson from a parents’ group called Kids Are Young, Fragile and BEautiful — No Exposure to Warfare Sports.

“WWE should be ashamed of creating an event that promotes combat and divisiveness. Don’t even get us started on the disgusting blasphemy of Hell in a Cell.”

Added the spokesperson: “Granted, our children are all grown men, aged 18 to 34, living in our basements, but we must still protect them from bad influences.”

The group said they would consider allowing tonight’s event to continue if WWE were to choose a more suitable name from a list of pre-approved titles, including:

  • NXT TakeCare: Fun’n’Games
  • NXT TakeItEasy: WarmGames
  • NXT MakeOver: Fabulous Cage Renos

The concerned parents have also asked that Sunday’s Survivor Series event be renamed Collaborator Series.
