World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) announced today that its upcoming WrestleMania® per-per-view spectacular will feature a nearly-hour-long performance by universally beloved rock gods Nickelback.

Every year, WrestleMania features musical performances by some of the most critically acclaimed musical artists in the world, spanning from classical (Limp Bizkit) to jazz (Saliva) to avant-garde (Sean “Diddy” Combs).

But the selection of Nickelback — who are currently in the middle of a sold-out 96-day concert series at the prestigious Metropolitan Opera House — is by far the greatest coup for WWE, and for wrestling fans.

“Everybody adores Nickelback,” said WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, “and WrestleMania is the perfect showcase for their transcendent, otherworldly aural soundscapes.”

In order to accommodate the full 50-minute set — which features a solo vocal aria by the exquisitely angelic Chad Kroeger — WWE has cancelled the showdown between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg.
