Careful examination of last Friday night’s episode of WWE Smackdown revealed that the entirety of the program was spent recapping events of the previous Monday’s episode of Raw.

“Let’s take you back to Monday night’s shocking turn of events,” commentator Michael Cole enthused at the beginning of Smackdown.

For the following two hours, Smackdown consisted of musical montages and retrospective segments rehashing every confrontation, interview and anti-bullying public service announcement from Raw.

Fans in the live audience at Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena were not treated to any live matches, but instead watched an endless succession of replays on the Titantron.

In related news, WWE recently announced that Smackdown will soon become a three-hour broadcast, in order to fully accommodate all the Raw footage that needs to be rehashed.
